The Maintenance Engineer plays an integral role in the performance and availability of Paylocity products. He/She will work with team members to resolve urgent issues with a short term solution, while not losing focus on a long term permanent solutions. This role provides the highest level of production support to all operational areas.
This position requires an inquisitive nature, a love of learning new things, and a strong desire to get to the root cause of an issue. Opportunities to learn new troubleshooting techniques and to advance programming skills are abundant in this role.
Performance Objectives/Job Duties
Research, trouble-shoot and correct complex and time sensitive software issues.
Serve as the highest level of support resource for operational teams throughout organization
Provide on-call support for time sensitive issues that occur outside of normal business hours.
Perform Root Cause Analysis on issues encountered throughout Paylocity applications
Provide guidance on best practices within Paylocity applications to internal users.
Make modifications to stored procedures and managed code for critical bug fixes.
Work in a collaborative environment where problem solving is a collective effort to find the best option for the client.
Ability to be creative and to think beyond his/her training to develop innovative solutions for urgent time sensitive problems
Effectively communicate details of complex issues to technical and business users

Required
Experience:
Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills
Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting a highly available application
Minimum of 2 years of experience with at least a Payroll, HR, Time & Attendance, Benefits, or Data Integration solution is required.
Demonstrate an above average knowledge of T-SQL.
Demonstrate effective and diplomatic communication skills, an energetic and positive attitude and strong team skills.
Demonstrate an aptitude and eagerness to learn new technologies
Familiarity with Visual Studios Development tools, strongly preferred
Experience with ASP.Net/C#, MVC, JavaScript, Microsoft Reporting Services is not required but is a plus.
