Medical Billing Administrative Assistant Location:
Arlington Heights, IL Days/Hours:
Monday- Friday 9am-5:
30pm WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE:
Verify insurance eligibility Assist with claim status follow up Fill in coverage assisting with billing tasks when team members have time off Backup departmental communications with billing calls, emails and chats Submit paper claim forms and medical records to payers Support preauthorization team as needed, rescheduling appointments and clinical requests Call TPL or other payers missing authorizations Post EOB and patient payments daily that are received via mail Perform all other duties as assigned Ability to alternate between prolonged periods sitting, frequent standing, lifting, reaching, stooping.
Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs QUALITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:
Solid, concise verbal and written communication skills Ability to meet strict deadlines Highly focused on detail, exceptional organizational abilities Flexibility to adapt quickly to any disruptions or changes in the day Ability to be resourceful and self-reliant to take initiative making decisions when issues arise Multitasking and time management skills, with ability to prioritize tasks Possess information research skills Familiarity, some experience with medical terminologies, coding and billing procedures EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate Prior basic medical billing experience performed in a medical/office setting Knowledge of EHR, medical billing software or practice management systems is a plus BENEFITS & PERKS:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
