Core Infrastructure Manager - Information Mngmt &Technology at Northwest Community Healthcare in Arlington Heights, IL

Reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure, manages the areas responsible for Networks, Servers, Storage and Data Centers. Is responsible for all design, implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the Northwest Community Healthcare (NCH) Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure. Participates in the development of the infrastructure roadmap for the future. Guarantees NCH users' accessibility to all required computer based resources 7x24x365 according to agreed upon standards. Develops and enforces change management procedures for all supported systems. Ensures the stability, security and accessibility of all applicable IT systems to all NCH supported users. Creates, monitors and supports infrastructure services for all of Northwest Community Hospital continuum. 1. Oversees team of Technical Architects, Network Administrators, and Systems and Storage Administrators. Develops and manages the day to day operations of the Infrastucture/System Administration and the Project Implementation for infrastructure teams. Schedules appropriate staff levels and coordinates project staffing needs with the Director of IT Infrastructure and peer support managers. 2. Leads department functions for improving system reliability, data interchange and system upgrades. Works with the Information Technology Management Team to develop written procedures for the recovery of all Data Center systems after a failure. Coordinates tests of these procedures for accuracy on a regular basis. 3. Participates in the development of short and long term goals, policies and procedures for infrastructure, which support overall IT Management Team and the corporation's strategic plans. Establishes tactical plans to accomplish these goals. Based upon these goals and in conjunction with the Director of IT Infrastructure, assists in the development and administration of the departmental budget. 4. Serves as an escalation point for user requests and concerns. Provides management level support for user inquiries regarding service levels including report generation, system downtime scheduling, and installation of new devices in the Data Center. 5. Develops and manages the monitoring of system availability including Network traffic studies, Interface performance, downtime by system, total downtime for data center, system backup performance and staff productivity. Monitors all standards against service level agreements, develops and carries out corrective action plans as needed. Communicates with Directors, staff and clients as appropriate. Uses statistics to manage capacity appropriately by forecast appropriate system sizing, and suggest modifications to the systems as necessary. 6. Is a key participant in discussions pertaining to system integration. Manages the upgrades and migration of systems; ensures proper and standard documentation is prepared; enforces quality and testing of all changes to systems. Provides guidance to staff on problem analysis and resolution. 7. Implements networking projects and systems related to Routing and Switching, WAN/LAN, Cisco, F5 and other network devices, WLANs. Manages and tracks the completion of audit remediation tasks. Develops and carries out project plans to completion. 8. Participates in the development of IT Team notification procedures for infrastructure related downtimes. Educates NCH support staff of duties, according to NCH IT procedures. Works closely with the Service Desk Manager to communicate and enable appropriate downtime procedures. Produces documentation for CMDB and other knowledge repositories as new technology is brought online or changes are made to the environment. 9. Maintains time and attendance records. Supervises and mentors staff; interviews, hires, develops, evaluates and (when necessary) discharges reporting staff. Coordinates the training, and orientation of new employees and re-training of existing employees including training on NCH computer systems, customer service skills, daily operational procedures, downtime procedures and emergency procedures. 10. Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies and procedures. Qualifications 1. Level of knowledge equivalent to attainment of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering or Communication Engineering or a related field. Master's degree in a related field preferred. 2. Minimum 5 years management experience in a technical environment required. 3. Minimum 10 years of experience in a computer operations environment required. 4. Experience in supporting the following technologies:
o Microsoft technologies - MCSE, Exchange, SQL, IIS, Clustering - extensive experience required. o VMware knowledge and experience with enterprise deployment. o Server Hardware, including physical platforms and virtual platforms with HA configuration. o Network Experience with Core/Distribution/Access/Security/Wireless knowledge, CCNP preferred. o Storage experience including SAN and Hitachi Equipment. o Data Center Architecture and Operations Management Experience, including High Availability, Disaster Recovery while maintaining industry best practices. 5. Vendor Management, including the ability to perform RFP's and evaluate, test and recommend solutions. 6. Ability to track and manage high value budgets. 7. Ability to manage very high level IT architects and technical personnel. 8. The organizational skills necessary to independently manage people and projects. 9. Strong problem solving skills including the ability to deal with problems involving abstract variables in non-standard situations. 10. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with users, vendors, external agencies, and hospital staff. Aptitude for providing positive customer service and good communication skills. 11. The verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively communicate system issues with users, vendors, and hospital staff. 12. Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, other associates and management of Northwest Community Healthcare. 13. Ability to handle difficult clients and situations in a professional and courteous manner. 14. The knowledge required to support enterprise wide systems and devices; Network, Servers, Storage, Data Center, Data Security and Disaster Recovery. 15. The ability to work long hours during crisis situations and provide emergency phone and/or on-site support during non-standard hours as needed.
Salary Range:
$250K -- $500K+
Minimum Qualification
System & Network Administration, Database Administration, Technology ManagementEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
